Academics

Credits

Universidad Catolica San Antonio De Murcia’s International Credit Program(ICP) strictly follows North American academic standards and course evaluation systems. Each course in this program is worth four credits—equivalent to the number of credits awarded in a standard semester-long course offered by North American and Western European universities.

Transcript

Upon completing International Credit Program(ICP)courses, UCAM will issue an official transcript in English with the university seal on the envelope. The final grades earned from UCAM will be counted directly in the students’ GPA. All official transcripts will be accredited and sent to the address provided by students in their online application. All credits earned by students during their summer program with UCAM are guaranteed to transfer to their home university. Students may also apply for unofficial transcripts at any time.

Transcripts will be kept on file for three years by the International Credit Program(ICP) office. Please contact the office if an additional transcript is required; please note that students will be required to cover the extra transcript and mailing expenses.

Academic Integrity

Students are expected to adhere strictly to the university’s academic integrity rules; the same restrictions apply to work on essays, examinations, and other types of academic assessments. Any form of plagiarism, cheating, or misappropriation of materials will be considered a violation of academic integrity and will be punishable by the university.

Cheating is strictly prohibited with no tolerance by the university. Any act of cheating that is discovered will result in the student being disqualified from writing the exam. Students who commit serious academic offenses and violate the university’s academic integrity rules will immediately receive an F (Fail) and be subject to a full investigation as directed by the University Disciplinary Committee.

Withdrawal from Studies

Students may apply for a transfer or withdrawal within 3 days of a course’s start date. If an application for withdrawal is submitted within 3 business days of a course’s start date, tuition fees will be refunded; otherwise, if submitted after a period of more than 3 business days, tuition fees will no longer be refundable. Any withdrawal that occurs during the first two weeks will be recorded as W (Withdrawn) on the student’s transcript. After this initial two-week period, the course will be recorded as F (Fail).

Academic Appeals and Enquiries

Students' course and assessment grading will follow the grading system and standards used by Universidad Catolica San Antonio De Murcia. Should a student fail the course's exam, grades will be recorded as F (Fail). All academic appeals and inquiry requests regarding grades on assessments can be directed by email to Pweitichan at wtchan@alu.ucam.edu. Academic appeals may be made within a month of course completion. The Dean will inquire and communicate with relevant course instructors regarding the academic appeal to finalize a decision regarding the outcome of the application for an appeal. Students can expect to receive a final response within 5 business days; once a decision is finalized, the inquiry results will be recorded as the student's new final grade and cannot be re-appealed.
